In the time of FTA, the competition in Thai textile
industry is very intense, both locally and internationally. Textile
entrepreneurs must improve business strategies to be ready for
current situations, new technologies and product advertising to
make products well-known both locally and internationally. One
way of product public relations in foreign countries is exhibition.
Many companies have participated in organizing exhibitions in
foreign countries but some have not participated because of
some inconvenience. Many people think that exhibition trip is
complicated, expensive and inconvenient to cooperate locally
and internationally. Today, we have the answers to show you that
it is easy, economical and it is not complicated as you think.
To organize Textile and Garment Fairs each you in foreign
countries there are many countries that co-organize mane How
50 exhibitions. Each year many countries, such as in Asia and
Europe, have cooperated to organize over 50 textile product
exhibitions. For example, in Asia, China, Hong Kong and Japan
have organized following exhibitions, “Interstoff Asia Spring”,
“Intertextile Beijing (Apparel Fabric)”, Cinte Techtextile China”
and “Source It”. In Europe, France, Germany and the USA have
organized the Heimtextil exhibition, the Textworld exhibil, and other
that has not been mentioned. So far, some Thai textile companies
have organized their trips to exhibition on their own with more
expenses for apace rental, decoration, transportation, coordination,
etc. than other companies. But do you know that there are
public and non-governmental organizations that can help you to
organize more conveniently and faster with over decrese in the
budger? Moreover, these organizations aim at promoting Thai
textile to have more shares in world market as well as more export
value. The Department of Export Promotion in The Ministry of
Commerce which is a governmental organization directly takes
care of this business and gives 70-80% of expenses to support
textile companies participating in exhibitions in foreign countries
as well as other services such as providing information
about exhibition, supporting coordination in foreign countries,
expanding export markets, counseling and helping solve
problems. Additionally, there is a non-governmental organization,
acting as your representative in coordinating and organizing,
called the Thailand Textile Institute which is under the directing of
the Ministry of Industry. This organization’s objectives are
organizing marketing promotion activities both inside and outside
country, coordinating between public organizations and private
organizations and between private organizations and private
organizations in textile promotion activities.
On January 1, 2004, the Thailand Textile Institute was
appointed to be the representative of the Messe Frankfurt
Exhibition GmbH in Thailand in order to take care of textile
products exhibition. The institute’s responsibilities are providing
conveniences and coordinating the process with entrepreneurs
who want to participate in exhibitions in foreign countries
organized by the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. So, it can be
seen that there is the non-governmental organization providing
services which you can contact for services without charges.
The textile industry development is the responsibility of every
relevant organization. Textile industry must be promoted to be
accepted and able to compete in world market. The most
important thing is that entrepreneurs should open to new things
and cooperation to get foreign countries to be aware of Thai
textile quality. Exhibition in foreign countries is one of public relations
methods which is important to Thai textile producers in
getting foreign countries to know new products and creating
further trading connections.
